Bad linking and irritating PR5 sites

On of my pet hates are sites that are full of no information. Hundreds of articles written about many topics that all contain..... nothing. The body of the blog or article has been fattened out as much as possible, using as many keywords as possible and the value of the information is zero. Pages and pages of zero!
How does a site like that get a PR5 rating from Google?
In the information age it is harder than ever to find information - good, meaningful information. Google, with it's ranking algorithms, has created a monster. A monster that has negated the great tool that is the internet. Search on any subject and you are likely to be served up thousands of information sources - of which about 90% are crap - they are there merely to drive traffic. The have been SEO 'd to the max. Our information sources and knowledge has been usurped by good Seo technique.
And the worst of this whole mess is that once you land on the site and have waded through the drivel, found that there is no valuable info - the product that is sold on the site does not exist. In fact there was no product or information planned in the first place. The sites entire reason for being is Google add words - or some other affiliate programme that generates income on clicks and adverts. You are sucked to these black holes merely to generate mediocre income for the site owner.
I have nothing against the site, its owner, or Google ad sense. Business is business and everyone is trying to make a buck. My gripe is with the net result- a cluttered, disorganised, overtraded internet, that give me lots of nothing. The dream of a world connected is a world of rubbish - page after page, site after site of meaningless rubbish.
The really good information is hidden amongst websites that have the best search engine optimisation techniques, the greatest long tailed keyword combinations, perfect H1, h2 and H3, headers, wonderful anchor text, fantastic image naming techniques, alt img etc........ and no bloody information about anything. And then to top it all off, this same information is served up in different ways on sister sites in order to catch the traffic. Other Lazy webmasters have then gone and copied this information and used it on their own sites with a few minor changes to get the best ranking from Google and Yahoo. What a great stinking mess.
It reminds me of my backups at home - copies of copies, copies of copies of copies, final copy, absolute final copy, back up of back of back up of final copy. Whew - all that is different is that the websites all promise new information or a different perspective - NOT.
Add to this that once a subject has been overtraded - to get a listing with certain search engines is almost impossible - Moz directory just says no, as do ........with the result that new, good information, does not get ranked and is buried deeper than any gold from South Africa. It will never be found, never be recognised and therefore does not exist - We've all heard about a tree falling and nobody seeing it fall.
So how does one find the gems of information buried in the mountain of internet rubbish? Wading through a Google search result of 850 000 results is not the answer. I am almost tempted to dust off my encyclopaedias and drop the whole information technology lark once and for all.
Check out this site which emailed me a link request (I have used a no follow tag of course). It has a PR5 and absolutely nothing to offer. All of the articles are about nothing, (but with perfect SEO technique) and all the links are there to generate more links and ratings for other useless sites. It’s an nightmare... and the worst part is that if I do not play the same game my website, despite its great design, it good seo, and the valuable information it provides, is never going to be seen. It does not matter what I do...it is destined to be the tree that nobody will see falling.
In fact, this article will go up on my website that is selling web hosting, domain registrations, website designs and Search engine optimisation. I will optimise it to catch my desired traffic, I will avoid keyword stuffing etc. and then it will join thousands of other useless articles on the internet. Perhaps some newbie will wade through my babbling to find that critical bit of information he needs to save the world, only to swear and move on - hopefully by clicking on of my paid advertising links or affiliate links.
